The Malt Shovel Inn - Food and Drink

Home Page		 Diners can be assured of a warm welcome from Wednesday until
Sunday, and can choose from a range of reasonably priced dishes. The
menu changes weekly, and includes a children's menu and a vegetarian option. All dishes are served with crispy green vegetables. A typical
menu is as follows:

  • Venison in Red Wine
  • Gratin Dauphinois
  • Salmon in Butter Sauce
  • Pork Fillet
  • Vegetable Moussaka

Fine wines and real ales are available in the restaurant and in the bar
which dates back to 1110.
The selection for real ale fans, served by friendly, welcoming bar staff, includes:

  • Theakston's Old Peculiar

The huge trunk of an Oak tree forms the main beam of the dining room
& spans the whole width of the room. While you eat you can also look
out through windows claimed from 10 Downing Street during building
work there.
